Saint Augustine Pirate Gathering

November 12th,
13th &14th, 2010

Join us for the  3rd Annual Saint Augustine Pirate Gathering. Aye, we be calling re-enactors, living historians and casual pirates from all over the 7 seas to join the Crews of the Black Heart and Ancient City Privateers, as we celebrate the Golden Age of Piracy in the nation’s oldest city, Saint Augustine, Florida.
Come ashore and see the pirate mutiny, weapons demonstrations, sailor’s encampment, Thieves Market and hear stories of the high seas, history, shanties and so much more! We welcomed all pirates, so come ashore dressed in your best piratical pirattitude and enjoy a weekend of fun. This year’s event will be held at a St. Frances Field and Historical Quarter in Downtown Saint Augustine.

Event Schedule

Friday Nov. 12th
9-4.30pm -This One Day Only for FULL Exhibit Historical
Quarter opens at the De Mesa Yard George Street for Schools and Public. A large variety of Living History Demonstrations with incredible characters “A-Buck-an-ear” $2.00 for Adult/child (for more details See School Tours under Philanthropy section)
3pm-  Registration opens at Main Gate Francis Field Castillo Street
7pm- 11pm. Join us for the Historic Pub Crawl. You will visit several pubs in historic section of downtown St. Augustine. We will meet at the Maiden’s Pub on St Francis Field under the big tent Dress in your best pirattude for a fun time for all…
 
Saturday Nov. 13th
9.am – Gates will open for the Pirate Gathering.
9.am-11.am Breakfast for Registered pirates at Doo-Da-Inn or Continental Bar Main Tent
9.am-11am Gun & sword and weapons safety check at Cannon Range back Field (mandatory)
11.00am “Privateers Parade” Pirate boats and the krewes take to the streets for revelry with the locals
12.15pm – Battle at Sea with our Tall Ships Bayfront in Front of the Fort..
12.30ish – Pirate Land Battle at Orange Street beside the Bayfront and the Hugenught Cemetery (how convenient!)
1.30 pm Festivities on the Field with five stages and entertainment and LOTS of Piratical Treasure at the Thieves Market . Entrance a “Buck-an-ear” $2.00 adult /child
3.00pm Kids Costume Contest Main Stage
3pm-8pm Enjoy the gathering with music, weapons displays, sword fighting and Pirate Personalities.
 
Buccaner Bash
5pm – Main Tent will close to the Public for the private party “The Buccaneer Bash”. Public will need to purchase a separate ticket for this private event. (only 21 and older will be admitted, with tight security, so bring ID). This years event is “Catered by Butlers B-B-Que” and features Whole pigs and lots of Beef with Poultry and some vegies (so scurvy not an issue here) Rum Cake/desert will follow…Grog, sangria and Beer and Wine and other privileges for the Privateers supplied by Capt.Morgan (and a few of his closest friends).
6.00pm Letters of Marque are presented by St Augustines’ own Royal Family.
6.30pm Varity show Best of our Field entertainers for our Royal Family ..
Our Queen will also judge the Best Table for great prizes, presented during music break
7.00pm Costuming will be noted and judged during a music break …Great prizes.  Well…Here’s where the time stuff isn’t going to matter Savey? Oh and don’t forget the After hours events too…Hmm you have to be there to know about that…
 
Sunday Nov. 14th
9am – Gates will open for the Pirate Gathering…Breakfast
Do-Da-Inn.
10.30 am Pirate court will commence. Join us for a fun time as the rowdy pirates are brought to justice.
12.30pm Music with a special guest surprise Main Stage
2.30pm Sea Battle in Front of the Fort with our Tall Ships
3pm-8pm Enjoy the gathering with music, weapons displays, sword fighting and Pirate Personalities. Shows on stage all day Gate Entrance “A Buck-an-ear” $2.00 adult/child
5pm – The Gathering shall close and all pirates shall return to the high seas until next year.
